As part of the project "Building the critical computer skills for the future ready workforce " implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in partnership with the Ministry of Education, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Petlja Foundation successfully organized training courses for informatics teachers teaching third-grade high school students talented in informatics.

The training programs were focused on adapting teaching to new changes in the curriculum, with a focus on two subjects: Programming and Databases for the third grade of high school. The training topics were separated and focused on the specific needs of teachers for each subject.

Both training courses had the status of public interest programmes in accordance with the Decision of the Minister of Education and were completely free of charge. They were organized on weekends and they were available in several time slots at three locations - the Mathematical Grammar School, and the IT Grammar School in Belgrade, as well as the “Jovan Jovanović Zmaj” Grammar School in Novi Sad.

The reception of the training was extremely positive. All the participants who successfully completed the training estimated that this training will improve their work in the classroom and provide them with additional tools that they can use for teaching students who display special talent in informatics.
